Scandinavian Inspired Interior

Updated: Mar 30

hyg·ge

/ˈho͞oɡə,ˈho͝oɡə/

noun

  1. a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being (regarded as a defining characteristic of Danish culture).

Frozen might have come out in 2013 but it's quite memorable, after all we're still singing along to Let It Go from time to time. And who could forget Oaken, the shopkeeper, who introduced the concept of hygge to a whole generation. Regardless of when you might have first heard of it, hygge as a word dates back to around 1800 and has been a prevailing concept in Scandinavian design for almost as long.

Scandinavian inspired design takes inspiration from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry who once said "Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." Cozy minimalism helps create spaces that physically, mentally and emotionally support those who use them.

Combing clean lines and cozy textures helps create an inviting atmosphere - a design cornerstone for a home that is meant to embody hygge. Natural light brings warmth while neutral colors create a calming experience. Pay close attention when using textiles to create layers, the intent is to create a space that is serene but not fussy.

Living Room

We transformed this living room into an inviting and cozy Scandinavian-inspired oasis with warm neutral colors, wood accents, and a sleek open floor plan. Experience the minimalist charm and timeless elegance that Scandinavian design effortlessly brings to any space. Say goodbye to clutter and hello to pure serenity in your living room retreat.

Bedroom

The ability to utilize the sunlight effectively is what contributes to the serene and well-lit ambiance of this Scandinavian bedroom, resulting in a joyous homecoming experience. The presence of storage units near the bed, a designated area for work, and just the perfect touch of individuality and personalization further enhance its distinctiveness.

Kitchen

Simple doesn't have to mean boring! This small kitchen is transformed from an afterthought to a visual statement with bold, yet simple, black and white finishes. Clean, crisp lines are combined with quartz countertops and an iridescent cream tile backsplash creating a space for spending time together and encouraging conversation.

Office Space

With a warm and calming grey tone, this office embraces the Scandinavian aesthetic, exuding both sophistication and professionalism. It is meticulously organized, providing ample storage that seamlessly integrates with the room, resulting in a space that feels purposeful and conducive to productive work routines.
